Hi there! My sister actually got married in 2010 and was in the same dilemma as you.  She decided to go with Magic Mike since he has been around forever and figured he had a lot more experience than Bollywood DJs.  That was the worst decision she ever made, the poor thing was crying (not joyfully) as she walked on stage because Magic  Mike played the wrong song for her entrance to the ceremony.  Magic Mike was quite arrogant throughout the process and paid very little attention to the details once he received my sisters deposit.  She was so distraught after the ceremony and instead of Magic Mike trying to things make right he actually got in an argument with my father.  Our family was absolutely flabbergasted by his demeanor and lack of understanding detail.  We wondered how he has been in business so long.

I recently was just shopping through DJs and met up Bollywood DJs.  I specifically  met with Amar Sethi who is their Director of Sales.  His professionalism thus far has impressed me.  I looked at a couple other DJs but they just lacked the professionalism and elegance that I wanted for my wedding.  I have seen them at a few of my friends weddings recently and their uniqueness is what I really like about them.  They were actually more on the expensive side as opposed to other companies out ther but in my opinion they are well worth it.  I am getting married on June 30th and decided to use their services.  I hope this helps!

I hired DJ Magic Mike for my wedding this past June.  I got married in Rhode Island and my FI heard him at a wedding and loved him.  We actually did not have Magic Mike on the day of our wedding- he sent his other 2 DJ's (Monu and Amir), but I was aware of this when I booked with him.  To be honest, he was fairly easy to deal with and ok to work with but I agree with the above post, a little arrogant.  I was sorta happy when it was Monu and Amir who came because they did an amazing job.  I felt that they didn't really look at my song requests, but they did get everyone's names right, all the proper introductions/songs, and kept the crowd going the entire night.  In the end, I was really pleased with the product and quality.  I felt that even though Magic Mike wasn't the nicest/outgoing guy, the end product for us was fantastic and well worth the money.  Plus, they were very open to traveling to RI and staying at whatever accomodations we provided.

I am glad that everything worked out for you.  NO BRIDE should ever have to walk into her ceremony with a song that she did not want or choose.  Even the fact that they did not look at the song requests is a big concern to me.  Well whatever the case is, I am glad it worked out but my sister and I would never recommend him to anyone.

Thanks ladies for your input. In the end my fiance (who had been doing all the discussions with the DJs) asked me to talk to both of them. And by far I felt much more comfortable with the Bollywood guys. When I called, they sounded happy to talk to me, very professional, eager to answer my questions. They also have followd up with my fiance a couple times to see if there's anything else they can answer for him.

When I called Mike, he sounded a bit like I was inconveniencing him with my questions, gave me brief responses, and didn't sound all that enthused in general. Not sure if it was the arrrogance or not. Anyway, we decided to go with the Bollywood guys last night!

I'm just catching up with life after our daugher's wedding a couple of weekends ago, and I just wanted to post my comments about DJ Magic Mike.

We selected him after much consideration based on two factors, his reputation and his can-do attitude/chemistry when we first talked. The latter was a key factor is our selection of all vendors because we recognized that everything goes much better if you have good communication and understanding.

We specifically requested Mike himself (we booked well in advance) and the whole process was extremely pleasant. He made thoughtful suggestions (the dhol player was a big hit) and worked well with my daughter (the bride) in the selection of music for each part of the Reception. We opted for a few extras (like the plasmas and projection screens) which really helped to enhance the experience for the guests, both at the ceremony and the recption.

I'm happy to report that I would highly recommend DJ Magic Mike. He's professional, experienced and a pleasure to work with. Our reception was a resounding success thanks in no small part to his (and his team's) efforts.
